The Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association Scholarship for 2008

The FNSNA was created in 1969 to honor Frances Tompkins, the Association's first Executive Director. Scholarships are awarded to qualified nursing students annually. Current enrollment and matriculation in a state approved nursing program leading to an associates degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic doctorate or generic master's degree, or enrolled in an RN to BSN, RN to MSN, or LPN/LVN to RN program.
- Pre-nursing students taking courses to prepare for matriculation into a nursing program.
- Attending classes and taking no less than six (6) credits per semester.
- Involvement in student nursing organizations and/or community health activities.
- Document academic achievement.
- Establish financial need.
- High school students are not eligible to apply.
- U.S. Citizen or Alien with U.S. Permanent Resident Status/Alien Registration Number.

The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund Scholarship 2008
The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund is a student scholarship program administered by MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland funded through a gift from The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund. Scholarships are given to students in health care fields on the basis of merit and established criteria as determined by an overseer committee.
Eligibility Requirements
- Residents of the Mid-Michigan area. (Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella,
Midland, Montcalm, Ogemaw, Osceola, Roscommon, and Saginaw County). - Have been accepted into an accredited clinical health care curriculum.

Home Builders Association of Saginaw (HBA) Women's Council Scholarship 2007

The Women's Council of the Home Builders Association of Saginaw will award scholarships to students participating in a technical field of study within the building industry.
Eligibility Requirements
- Part time students who are working in the industry .
- Full time students who are working in the industry.

Air & Waste Management Association East Michigan Chapter 2008
The East Michigan Chapter, A&WMA is pleased to announce up to four $1,500 scholarships to students studying for a career in air pollution control, hazardous waste management, or another environmental area. The scholarships must be used at a college or university located within the State of Michigan.
Eligibility Requirements
- At the start of the term for which the scholarship is sought, applicants must be attending full time and pursuing a course of study leading to a career in air pollution control, toxic and/or hazardous waste management, or another environmental area. Preferred courses of study include engineering, physical or natural sciences, public health, law and natural resources. If in doubt as to the suitability of a curriculum or course of study, contact the Scholarship Chairperson by letter.
- Applicants must be in or going into Junior or Senior undergraduate class standing, or in or going into Graduate School pursuing a master's degree, or a professional school (e.g.,law) in a basic degree program.
- Merit will be of primary interest, and an applicant should have at least a "B" average; that is, 3.0 on 4.0 honor point scale. Financial Need is also a consideration. Extra curricular activities and interests will also be considered.
Amount of Award: Four $1,500 scholarships will be awarded.

AICPA/Accountemps 2007-2008 Student Scholarship

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants is in partnership with Accountemps to provide scholarships to outstanding students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an AICPA student affiliate member
- A declared accounting, finance or information systems major with an overall and major GPA of at least 3.0
- A student who has satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours, or equivalent including at least (6) semester hours in accounting.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student (12 semester hours or equivalent), at an accredited college or university in the United States.

AICPA 2007-08 Scholarship for Certified Public Accountants

The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship for certified public accountants provides financial assistance to liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting. These awards are intended to encourage liberal arts undergraduates to consider professional accounting careers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must have obtained a liberal arts degree prior to enrolling in a graduate accounting program.
- Applicants must be liberal arts degree holders of a regionally-accredited institution in the United States.
- Applicants must be accepted into, or in the process of applying to, a graduate program in accounting that will enable them to sit for the CPA examination at a college or university who business administration program is accredited by AACSB International or the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
- Applicants must express the intention to pursue a CPA certificate.
Amount of Award: The amount of the scholarship is $5,000 for one year.

AES Engineers Scholarship 2008
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. The George A. Nielsen Public Investor Scholarship is to support the studies of full-time or part-time undergraduate students or graduate students with a career interest in the efficient and productive investment of public funds.

The National Garden Clubs Scholarship is for individuals majoring in a field including one of the following: Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Conservation, Botany, Biology, Plant Pathology, Forestry, Agronomy, Environmental Concerns, City Planning, and/or allied subjects.

Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics-Miriam Schaefer Scholarship 2008
The goal is to financially assist student currently enrolled in a teacher education program with a mathematics specialty. The award is to be used for tuition, books, labs and fees necessary to fulfill requirements for a BA or BS degree with teacher certification.
Eligibility Requirements
- Each applicant must be a Michigan resident and currently enrolled at a Michigan college or university in an elementary or secondary teacher education program with
- a mathematics specialty.
- Applicants must be a college/university junior or senior in good academic standing by June 1, 2008.
- Overall GPA 3.00 or higher.
- Secondary education majors must have successfully completed the college/university's required calculus sequence.
- Elementary education majors must have at least a mathematics minor.
- In determining eligibility, applicants enrolled in the final year of a five-year teacher preparation program will be considered a senior.
- The classification (junior or senior) for an applicant who has earned a degree in another area and has enrolled in a teacher education program will be determined by his/her July 1 status in the teacher education program.
Award: A check for $1,500 will be paid to the scholarship recipient(s) with their school as the second payee. The term of each scholarship is for one year and shall not be renewable.

Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) National Scholarship Program 2008
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is pleased to offer scholarships to students who plan to study in accounting or finance. An IMA student member is eligible for the Memorial Education Fund (MEF) Scholarship and for the Stuart Cameron and Margaret McLeod Memorial (SCMS) Scholarship.
Type of Awards:
MEF Scholarship - All student members, undergraduate or graduate will be awarded scholarships ranging in the amount from $1,000 to $2,500 and an award of the first-year dues post graduation (associate membership dues). An undergraduate student is defined as an individual who carries a minimum of six credit hours for both terms of the current a academic year 2007-2008 and who will be carrying six credits in the upcoming academic year 2008-2009.
SCMS Scholarship - On individual will be selected to receive the prestigious Stuart Cameron and Margaret McLeod Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $5,000. To qualify for the scholarship the student must carry 12 credit hours for the current academic year and 12 credit hours for the year in which the award will be received.

Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children
(Mi-AEYC) Scholarship 2008
The Mi-AEYC recognizes that emerging professionals need opportunities to work and learn along side leaders in our field. The Student Leadership Scholarship Award provides opportunities for education and leadership to undergraduate students. The purpose of providing this scholarship is to develop a base for future leadership both in the profession and in the organization.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours by the start of the next school year.
2. Applicant must have attained and maintained a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
3. Applicant must be attending or registered for attend a four-year college or university in the State of Michigan that is regionally accredited, or be enrolled in a teacher education program that is approved by the State of Michigan.
4. Applicant must be majoring or minoring in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, e.g. Early Childhood Special Education, Family Studies.
Award: A scholarship of $1,000.
