Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation College Scholarship for 2007

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation College Scholarship Award is to assist students who have lost a parent to breast cancer.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for consideration, the scholarship applicant must:
- Have lost a parent to breast cancer.
- Reside within the service area of an established Komen Affiliate that is participating in the scholarship program. (If you are unsure, contact your local Affiliate or Komen Foundation Headquarters.) If you do not reside in the service area of a participating Affiliate, your application will not be considered.
- Be a high school graduate, a high school student who will graduate by June 2007, or have received the equivalent of a high school diploma. Current college students are eligible.
- Plan to attend a state-supported college or university in the state where they permanently reside.
- Have a college GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (if already attending college.)
- Be no older than 25 years old by May 2007.
- Be a U.S. citizen, or documented permanent resident of the U.S.
- Never at any time have been subject to any disciplinary action by any institution or entity, including, but not limited to, any eductional or law enforcement agency.
Award Amount: Five scholarships of up to $10,000 in value may be awarded annually. The scholarships are renewable annually upon proof of satisfactory progress toward the completion of degree.

John Gyles Education Awards for 2008
The John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavor established in 1990.
Eligibility Requirements
- Students must have Full Canadian or American Citizenship.
- Awards are available to both male and female students for all areas of post secondary study.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required.
- Academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process.
Award Amount: Selected students will receive up to $3,000.

Members First Credit Union is offering a scholarship program to recognize
academic achievement among Members First Credit Union members and
promote higher education.
Eligibility Requirements for Traditional Students
- The applicant must be the primary owner of a Members First Credit
Union account in good standing - The applicant must be attending or have graduated from an accredited
high school - The applicant must be accepted/enrolled in an accredited institution
and/or working towards their first undergrduate degree
Eligibility Requirements for Non-Traditional Students
- The applicant must be the age of 24
- The applicant must be getting his/her first 4-year degree
- The applicant must be attending vocational, technical, culinary,
trade school, etc - The non-traditional student will be selected on the same criteria
as a traditional student
Award Amount: There are seven scholarships to be awarded, two scholarships
will be awarded at $1,000, two scholarships at $750 and three scholarships
at $500.

Midland Cogeneration Venture Scholarship Program 2008
The Midland Cogeneration Venture will award scholarships in June 2008 to five qualifying Midland County residents who are beginning or continuing their post-secondary education.
Eligibility Requirements
The Vocational or Technical Education and Training Grants will be awarded based on a combination of Vocational/Technical criteria, financial need, academic achievement (minimum of 2.5 GPA/GED) and/or
work and life skills, and extracurricular activities.
The Academic Grants will be based on a combination of the Academic criteria, financial need, academic achievement (minimum of 2.5 GPA/GED) and/or work and life skills, and extracurricular activities.
Award Amount: The scholarships will range up to $1,000 per grant.
