Graduate Scholarships
The following scholarships are available to graduate students by SVSU academic departments. The awards are made by the respective departments based on academic merit and need (additional criteria may apply). Students are encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on an early basis for consideration of these awards. In addition to the FAFSA form, a separate application is required (in most cases).

Salley Edgerton-Netke Memorial Scholarship in Early Childhood Education

- Early Childhood Education Major (ECE)
- Minimum 4.0 graduate GPA
- Letter of recommendation from ECE Faculty Member (not serving on selection committee)
- Submit application materials to demonstrate outstanding writing and scholarship
- Applications considered only during semester prior to internship/capstone year

Field Neurosciences Institute Scholarship for Neuroscience Nursing
Criteria
- Graduate
- Returning
- Full Time or Part Time
- Minimum 3.00 GPA
- Demonstrate ability or potential to contribute to field of Nursing in general
and neuroscience nursing in particular - Scholastic achievement
- Demonstrated dedication to and professionalism in Nursing
- Preference to candidates who have served as nurse externs or as supportive
nursing personnel in health care settings that provide care to people with
neurological conditions

- Graduate student from West Bengal or Bangladesh with a minimum cum GPA of 2.75

Nancy S. Meadows Memorial Graduate Grants in Education
Criteria
- Returning Graduate
- Must have completed at least six credit hours toward a degree in the Educational Leadership program on the Master's or Educational Specialist level at SVSU
- Minimum of 3.00 GPA in graduate coursework
- Demonstrate ability or potential to contribute to the field of teaching
- Recipients cannot receive this scholarship if they receive any other scholarship, grant or reimbursement from SVSU or a school system in which employed except for need-based financial aid

- Returning Graduate

- Completed minimum of six graduate credits
- Degree candidate for Educational Leadership Program or Educational Specialist
- Minimum of 3.00 Cum GPA
- Demonstrate ability or potential to contribute to field of educational leadership
- Candidates must present minimum 500 word essay to explain why they chose to
become educational leader - Candidate cannot be recipient of any other scholarship, grant, or reimbursement
by SVSU or the school system which s/he may be employed, except for need-based financial aid
