Music and Theatre Scholarships
The following scholarships are available to students who have demonstrated their ability in music or theatre. The awards are made by the respective departments based on an audition, interview and other criteria. Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for further information.

Distinctive Program in Music Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to students who, due to their exceptional music performing ability and outstanding course work in music or music education, will bring distinction to the department.
Students who receive this award will also become part of the Music Ambassadors to the Schools program. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year, and is renewable based on the recommendation of the faculty.

- Undergraduate FTIC Freshman, Returning or Transfer students
- Music or Music Education major
- Full time
- Minimum GPA 3.0

Distinguished Theatre Arts Scholarship
The Distinguished Theatre Arts Scholarship is awarded to students who are highly gifted and talented, whose work will bring distinction to the SVSU Theatre Department productions and programs. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year, and is renewable subject to the recipient satisfactorily meeting all scholarship requirements.
Criteria
- Undergraduate FTIC Freshman or Transfer Student
- Full Time fall and winter semesters
- Theatre Major
- Minimum GPA 3.00

Fine Arts Scholarship
The Fine Arts Scholarship is awarded based on review of a submitted portfolio of student artwork. The scholarship amount is $2,000 and is renewable for four years based on renewal requirements.
Criteria
- New incoming freshman
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design or Visual Arts Education majors
- Renewal requirements include maintaining an SVSU GPA of 3.0 or higher and continuing with one of the four majors listed above
- Newly admitted high school seniors with qualifying GPA’s and who indicate Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design or Visual Arts Education on their applications will automatically receive the Fine Arts Scholarship application in late February. Students should be admitted to the university prior to this date for full consideration

Rhea Miller Scholarships in Music
The Rhea Miller Scholarships in Music are awarded based on an audition and interview. The scholarship amount is $2,000 and is awarded for one academic year. It may be renewed upon the recommendation of the faculty.

- Music or Music Education major
- New or Returning Undergraduate
- Dollar amounts vary
- Renewable for additional years subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria
- Minimum 3.00 GPA in Music courses
- Minimum 2.50 SVSU GPA
- Enrollment requirement: Full time student

Patsy Hill Schwartz Endowed Music Scholarship Fund
The Patsy Hill Schwartz Scholarship is given to a student who has shown leadership in the Department of Music and has demonstrated high academic achievement in music.

Marc A. Gordon Memorial Scholarship in Acting
Criteria
- Returning Undergraduate
- Full Time
- Theatre Major
- Minimum Junior Standing
- Minimum Cum GPA 3.00
- Previously performed in a minimum of 4 SVSU productions
- Demonstrate potential, ability and passion to excel in the art of acting

Marching Band/Pep Band Scholarships
The Marching Band and Pep Band Scholarships are available. The Marching Band Scholarship has a value of approximately $350 and the Pep Band Scholarship has a value of $200.
The above scholarships are available to students selected as Pep Band and Marching Band members. James and Rosemary Hill Scholarship
The James and Rosemary Hill Scholarship is open to music education students. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. The student must have an overall GPA of 2.75 and 3.0 in music courses. This scholarship is based on financial need so you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form.
