Career Opportunities in Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering is a rapidly-expanding field which encompasses a wide spectrum of specialties and affects various aspects of life. As an Electrical Engineer, our graduates work in analysis, design, manufacturing, testing, research and/or system development. Following are a few titles for an electrical engineer:

  • Systems Engineer or Designer (electronics, power, computer or control)
  • Applications, Test or Product Engineer
  • Research and Development Engineer
  • Aerospace or Guidance and Control Design Engineer
  • Integrated Circuit Design or Fabrication Engineer

Graduates of the ECE Department have been employed by national and local companies, such as GM, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, Wineman Technology and many other medium- and small-sized companies. A good number of our graduates have entered graduate programs at various well-known universities. Our graduates have high pass rates on the Fundamentals of Engineering professional exams. Co-op opportunities are available with local industries.
