MLK Celebration Events: Monday, Jan. 17, 2011

  • Saginaw Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. and the Delta College Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) In celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. SVSU students and members of the community will participate in the annual Unity March. This is a symbolic march uniting the East and West sides of the city of Saginaw. The march will begin Monday - January 17, 2011 at 10:00am at Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy (300 Congress), proceed over the bridge and conclude at The Dow Event Center. Two SVSU students, Julie Boon (President SA) and Vance Fulton (Roberts Fellow) will speak on the significance of MLK Day celebration and the march at the brief rally concluding the march. The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity & Delta College Black Faculty luncheon will follow.
  • Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity & Delta College Black Faculty and Staff presents the 15th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Luncheon on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dow Event Center, Unity Hall.
