Students with Autism including Asperger's

Autism is an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) characterized by impaired social interaction, problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and unusual, repetitive, or severly limited activities and interests.  One in 150 children in America in 2007 have an ASD.  Another ASD is called Asperger syndrome.  Persons with Aspergers also have difficulty with social skills as well as transitions and changes.  They often become obsessive about a routine or about a particular subject of interest.  They are quite literal in their communication.  All forms of ASD are characterized by difficulty reading nonverbal cues.
