Dear Graduate:

We join with your family and friends in pride on your accomplishments at Saginaw Valley State University. Your participation in the Commencement ceremony on Friday, December 18, 2009 will allow me to personally congratulate you for your achievements as you walk across the stage.

In preparation for that anticipated event, please take a few moments to review the pages on this website for important information on academic apparel, the time and place of the processional, and general information about ceremony protocol.

Upon graduation, you will carry the name and reputation of this University with you. The name of Saginaw Valley State University will be one of the first things to appear on any job application you submit and "where did you go to college" will likely be one of the first questions you are asked in social conversations.
