In cooperation with Lambton College in Sarnia Ontario and St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in Port Huron, Saginaw Valley State University offers its Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in Port Huron to graduates of Lambton College's General Arts & Science - Elementary Educator (GASE) program. The two-year GASE program is designed to address transfer requirements for SVSU's baccalaureate program and provides a diversified program in integrated science, mathematics, English, and social studies.
After graduation from the Lambton College GASE program, students will continue the program by applying to St Clair County Community College to complete pre-education courses. Students will then apply for admission to the Bachelor of Arts degree program at SVSU to complete the final two-year professional studies sequence. All SVSU professional education courses are offered in Port Huron.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will obtain their Michigan teaching credentials that are recognized by the Ontario College of Teachers through the province application process at www.oct.ca .
SVSU offers the Horizon Scholarship for Lambton graduates enrolled in SVSU's Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. With this scholarship, attendance at SVSU is comparable to the cost of attending a Canadian university.
