The Early Childhood Endorsement includes a focus of study in the areas of: child development and learning, curriculum development and implementation, family and community relationships, assessment and evaluation, professionalism, and field experience. The endorsement requires all courses for the 21 credit endorsement be in early childhood and include field experience with two different age levels of young children. The age levels include infant toddlers, preschoolers, ages 2 1/2 to 5, and primary grades including kindergarten, ages 5-8.
Interested students must schedule an appointment with a certification advisor to review coursework and state testing requirements for the endorsement and to discuss how this program will develop into the Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
