Program Details

The Gerstacker Fellowship Program will annually provide a dozen aspiring school leaders with a demanding curriculum over a one-year period.  Participants will be required to complete the following to successfully earn the distinction of being a "Gerstacker Fellow."

Curriculum

Two consecutive semesters of study

Fall Semester (August-November)
Winter Semester (January-April)

One weekend session per month

Fridays (4:00 - 9:00 p.m.)
Saturdays (9:00 a.m.-noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m.)

Fellowship Capstone

Meet for a concentrated one-week program at the conclusion of the academic year to summarize and synthesize the work of the previous weekend sessions and to prepare for an international capstone experience in July.

Travel Abroad

Complete the international capstone experience, which will take the participants and an SVSU faculty mentor on a 7-10 day visit to one or more of SVSU's sister universities in Asia or Europe.

Cost

Participation in the Gerstacker Fellowship Program is supported by an endowment created by the Gerstacker Foundation.  There is no cost to Program participants, unless they choose the option to participate for graduate credit.
