Saginaw Valley State University's College of Education invites applicants to become Gerstacker Fellows. This selective program is designed to lift the leadership skills of aspiring individuals.

The Need

Effective leadership, articulated by those with a vision and an ability to motivate and manage is crucial to the success of our students and regional school districts.

Once these leaders are identified, it is critical to develop their skills and talents in ways that meet the demands of the future.

The Response

The Gerstacker Fellowship Program is an outstanding opportunity to send potential leaders to a year-long experience designed to expand and enhance leadership skills. Only twelve applicants will be selected annually for this program which is designed to benefit the participant, the school and its students, and the school district.

The Results and Benefits

A strong corps of capable and well-prepared leaders for the schools of our region will be developed - the "Gerstacker Fellows". The graduates of the Gerstacker Fellowship Program will ultimately form a resource network of talented administrators for the exchange of ideas and information.
