READING CLINIC
for students in grades K-12 and adult learners 

 

About the Clinic 

The SVSU College of Education Reading Clinic is held in a state-of-the-art facility that fosters motivation for reading and utilizes the latest technology.  Students are assessed to determine their strengths and needs in reading. Our tutors then use these assessments to build individualized lesson plans that maximize student potential.  A one hour assessment is necessary for each participant prior to the clinic.  Assessments are scheduled for:

Please contact us ahead of time at 989-964-4982 to reserve your time.  A $50.00 deposit is due at or before this assessment.

The Fall Reading Clinic will take place on Mondays, September 22 through December 8, 2008.  Students will be tutored in 1-on-1 or small group settings once a week.  Your child will be placed in one of the following Monday time slots: 4:30-5:20 p.m., 5:30-6:20 p.m., or 6:30-7:20 p.m.

While the students are participating in the clinic, parents or guardians can browse the RERC, enjoy a cup of coffee at a campus dining facility, or maybe just enjoy some quiet time!

About Our Tutors

All tutoring is directed by SVSU faculty, Gretchen Owocki, Ph.D., and Kristin Cornelius, M.A.T

To sign up

Complete the application and submit it to Kristin Cornelius at the address given on the application form.  The $50.00 deposit will be applied to the clinic's tuition. Payment of $260.00 must be submitted in the form of a personal check or money order.  Discounts will be given when a child is registered for two consecutive sessions.
