Guest Students
Individuals who plan to enroll in graduate level courses as a guest student at SVSU must be:
- Enrolled in a post-bachelor’s degree or endorsement program at their home institution.
- In good academic standing (2.0 or higher) or eligible to return to their home institution.
- Eligible to transfer credit back to their academic program at their home institution.
Applicants must fill out the Michigan Intercollegiate Graduate Studies (MIGS) guest application and submit it to the MIGS Liasion Officer at their home institution to obtain course approval and the appropriate signatures. The MIGS application is a universal application used by Michigan's universities and can be obtained here or through one of the Liasion Officers listed below.
Once the appropriate signatures and college seal has been obtained on the MIGS application, it can be forwarded with a check or money order made payable to SVSU for the $25.00 application fee to:

As soon as the completed application is received, it will be processed and the applicant will be given instructions on how to register.
Guest students,
- Are subject to all admission and registration regulations at SVSU.
- Are responsible for contacting the SVSU Registrar’s Office and making arrangements to forward an official transcript of credit earned as a guest student to their home institution.
- Are responsible for paying SVSU’s tuition rate and fees current at the time of registration or by the deadline date established by SVSU.
- Are limited to enrollment in 3-6 semester credit hours per semester.
- Must submit a completed MIGS application form each semester they plan to enroll as a guest student at SVSU.
Undergraduate students seeking admission as a guest student at SVSU must work with their academic advisor and the Registrar’s Office at their home institution on the application process.
