Golfers beat Grand Valley by eight strokes

Senior Adam Miller shot a three-under 69 in leading the Cardinals to an eight-stroke victory over Grand Valley State in the Wayne State Motor City Invitational on Friday.
As a team, the Cardinals shot a three-under 285. Senior Scott Urquhart was one stroke behind Miller with a 71, while fellow senior Darren Husse shot an even-par 72.
The Cardinals used the Wayne State Invite and Bay Valley Intercollegiate over the weekend to prep for the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Northwood this year, on Oct. 7 and 8.
A week prior, the team tied for third in the first regional of the year, finishing seven strokes behind first-place Ferris State. Sophomore Kasey Hocquard led the way, finishing tied for fifth with a one-over, two-day total of 145.
