Tires slashed in campus lots
October 2, 2006 —
There are currently no suspects in the slashing of vehicle tires in residential parking lots J-3 and J-4.
According to University Police Chief Ron Trepkowski, it appears that tires on several vehicles were slashed sometime Thursday night, as reports began filtering in Friday morning into Friday afternoon after students discovered their vehicles had been damaged.
Trepkowski said that the department is trying to gather more information, though he did say it appears as though the acts were random.
As of now, it is estimated that 11 vehicles had slashed tires.
However, that number may increase somewhat during the week. Some students may have been gone for the weekend before they discovered anything or changed their tire without reporting it.
The University Police is asking anyone with additional information to contact the department at 964-4141.
