Junior Aaron Mowen loses control of his children's bike as team members chase after him down the final stretch of track on Sunday afternoon. The race was one of the "Olympic-style" contests held during the 11th Annual Pi Games sponsored by Sigma Pi. Proceeds went to the Salvation Army.
Student teams competed in the Ryder Center during the 11th Annual Pi Games on Sunday. The event was organized by The International fraternity Sigma Pi. All proceeds from the fund-raiser will be donated to the Salvation Army.
"The main goal is to get as much money as possible to the Salvation Army," said Matt Wingblad, president of Sigma Pi. "That is what our success is based on. We are not really concerned with much else."
Registration for the games was $10 per team member. Teams consisted of 10 people.
Saturday's activities began at 10 a.m. and included a dodgeball tournament, water pong, brain teasers, and a bike race.
In all, Wingblad estimates that the event has raised about $20,000 in the last 10 years.
