Cards place well in Collegiate Open Indoor Classic, set three records

Men's and women's track fared well over the weekend, netting 22 top three finishes during the Collegiate Open Indoor Classic on Friday.

Senior Adam Roach set a new meet record, finishing the men's one-mile run with a time of 4 minutes, 17 seconds.

Junior Sam Tilimon also set a meet record in the men's 60-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.29 seconds.

Sjonne Mitchell took two first place finishes, marking a 7.93 second finish in the 60 meter dash - a team record - and a 26.34 second finish in the 200-meter dash.

Senior Courtney Kotewa took a first place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Megan Stalker also took a first- place finish for the women, marking a time of 18 minutes and 10 seconds in the 5000-meter run.

The Cardinals will travel to Ypsilanti on Saturday for their next meet at Eastern Michigan, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
