Student Association has once again teamed up with the Student Savings Club this year, and is bringing a new list of area-wide student discounts.

A few of the discounts include 10 percent off Rally's hamburgers, Tropical Smoothie and Texan Family Restaurants. Goodrich Theaters, and Stardust Lanes are also included on a long list of restaurants, automotive services, health services, and communication services that have agreed to participate in the program.

In order for students to receive their discount, they must show their SVSU ID card at point of purchase.

The list has been completed, but can still can be amended. If a student has a local business they would like to see a part of the savings club, the can contact SA with details.

The program is provided to students at no cost. Businesses pay the Student Savings Club to include them in the program. In return, discounts are passed to students. In turn, the businesses attract customers.

"I would recommend this to any student," said Stanghini. "It's no charge to them."

This is the second year SA has brought the program to SVSU students. Last year, SA brought the club with a similar list.

Founded in 1989 by Patrick Moriarty, the Student Savings Club is one of the countries longest-running student discount programs. It currently serves 170 colleges and universities in more than 30 states, and sees new schools join each month.
