Individuals in University Village posing as officials

Sunday, September 23

  • Arrest at Pierce Rd. and Davis Rd. for driving while license suspended. The original stop was for a burnt out taillight.
  • Vehicle cited for illegal parking in bookstore parking lot. Upon investigation, two MIPs were issued. Department assist. Breaking and entering in Cardinal Townhomes.
  • Property damage at grounds building. A door to the building had "KKK" written on it. Police are investigating this event's connection to an ongoing intimidation case.
  • Code of Conduct violation in University Village. Individual was smoking too close to the building.
  • Larceny in First Year Suites. An I-pod was taken.
  • Individual arrested for driving while license suspended on North Michigan. The original stop was for failure to dim headlights.

Tuesday, September 25

  • Larceny from an automobile in Lot J-2. Books were taken.
  • Harassment complaint from SVSU employee. Individual reported receiving threatening emails.
  • Threat complaint in Brown Hall. Teacher afraid of student after student threatened them.
  • Possible fraud complaint. Student reported posting a resume on careerbuilders.com. Through this she received a job that required receiving and cashing checks and forwarding the money. Individual reported the scam.
  • Medical call. Student having a panic attack in the College of Education.

Wednesday, September 26

  • Fugitive warrant arrest in Science East.
  • Breaking and entering in University Village. Suspect cut screen on window. A Sony Playstation and games were taken.
  • Larceny of a debit card and cash from Living Center South.
  • Larceny from an automobile in Lot J-1. A purse was stolen.

Thursday, September 27

  • Traffic arrest at Davis Rd. and Pierce Rd. The car was originally stopped for no seatbelt. The driver was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana. Passenger arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • Harassment complaint. Roommate threatening another roommate in First Year Suites.
  • Larceny from an automobile in R-lot. Three books were taken from a book bag.
  • Theft in K-lot. Suspect was apprehended and connected to previous book thefts from automobiles. Most of the books were recovered in the individual's possession. The incidents remain under investigation.

Saturday, September 29

  • Department assist. Burglary in Titabawassee Township. Suspect was not apprehended.
  • Suspicious person reported in Curtiss Hall. Individual reporting incident was escorted ot their vehicle.
  • Three MIPs issued in L-lot.
  • MIP party in First Year Suites. Two MIPs were issued and seven NTAs were written.

Sunday, September 30

  • Theft in First Year Suites. Roommates disputing by taking small food items and a t-shirt. This situation is being handled by Residential Life.

Tuesday, October 2

  • Vandalism in Ryder Center. The rubber molding was pulled off steps.
  • Medical call. Student fainted and hit their head on the floor in Student Center. The individual was taken to the hospital.

Wednesday, October 3

  • Suspicious persons reported in Pine Grove. Individuals attempted to pass themselves off as Homeland Security with homemade credentials. Suspects left after being questioned by residents.

Thursday, October 4

  • Department assist at Kochville Rd. and Davis Rd. Individual was intoxicated and unresponsive and was transported to the hospital.
