Comedian Tim Young kicked the annual Homecoming week variety show off, exhibiting a lot of improvisation skill between several acts while trying to keep a restless audience content during the numerous equipment malfunctions.

The Dance team headed off the campus organizations' performances and managed to dance their way through lighting and musical problems. Other performances ranged from Alpha Phi Omega's "Rapunzel Remix" to His House's tale of overcoming scheming princesses and dancing to Enrique Iglesias' "Hero" to Sigma Pi's "A Homecoming Tale" which rose a bit above the rest in the jokes made at Homecoming rival school Findlay's expense.

Freshman Dana Otto's personal favorite was the "Nu Show" performed by Nu Lambda Nu.

"They were my favorite because they were funny and used the best music in their act," she said. Sophomore Jason Sweet, a Nu Lambda Nu member, said that he'd really "gotten a kick out of how horribly they danced."

Taking fourth place after the judge's deliberations was Alpha Sigma Alpha, who performed "Coach Bo White and the Seven Football Dwarves."

Sigma Pi took third, and the hip-hop team took second place.

The winner of the Variety Show was Tau Kappa Epsilon, who performed its personal version of Little Bo Peep. TKE president Paul Trewhella said the best part of preparing for the show was "the guys all being together and working hard." He went on to say that the teamwork they'd worked on and are about certainly showed up on stage.

The performances of the night concluded with Alpha Psi Omega's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" as performed by the undead, which they also used to advertise for the upcoming performance of Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein."

Young summed up the event, saying, "This is a technologically challenged show tonight."
