Smoking Forum
The Student Association and the University are hosting an open forum concerning SVSU's future smoking policy. The forum will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose room.
It is open for students to share their thoughts and ideas as a part of the final stage of public review.

Homecoming week to commence
Homecoming week kicked off this weekend with the all male Robin Hood Tournament held on Saturday and the all female flag football game held on Sunday.
The rest of the weeks events include Monday's Spirit Banner Viewing and Judging and Residence Hall Window Decorating Competition, ThinkFast Trivia on Tuesday, Co-Ed Sector Wars Wednesday, a Variety Show hosted by Program Board on Thursday, Friday's Homecoming Service Project and Red and White Craft Night, the Homecoming parade, football game against Findlay, king and queen coronation and the women's volleyball game against Ashland.

Speed limit on Davis road lowered
In order to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, SVSU has lowered the speed limit on Davis Road between Pierce Road and College Drive from 45 mph to 35 mph. Signs are posted to reflect this change.
Pedestrian crossing signs and roadway markings also have been added at the main entrance to the athletic complex on the east side of Davis. These measures are intended to improve safety for SVSU faculty, staff, students and visitors.
Internationally acclaimed violinist to perform
Violinist Charles Wetherbee is coming to SVSU Saturday, Oct. 6. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall as part of SVSU's Rhea Miller Concert Series.
