MIPs issued in University Village, burglary in Living Center South

Friday, September 14

  • Personal injury in the Education Building. Individual slipped while pushing in a chair and hurt their ribs.
  • Noise disturbance. The SVSU Race Team was racing a car in the evening in G-lot. Police asked them to stop and they complied.
  • One MIP issued at Pierce and Tower. Individual was walking back from Cardinal Townhomes.
  • Department assist to Carrollton. Police were unable to locate a suspect.
  • One MIP issued in First Year Suites.

Saturday, September 15

  • Hit and run vehicle accident in E-lot.
  • Larceny in Ryder Center. Money was taken.
  • Malicious destruction of property in University Village. Individual reported the antenna on their vehicle had been bent. No suspects were located and the incident is still under investigation.

Sunday, September 16

  • Suspicious person with gun reported in Living Center South. The gun was recovered two days later. It was discovered then that the gun was a BB gun.
  • Two MIPs issued in University Village.
  • Department assist. A fight in Campus Village escalated and participants threw beer bottles at police vehicles.
  • Party reported in University Village. 17 individuals were present; seven MIPs were written.
  • Three MIPs issued in Living Center North.
  • Unfounded fire alarm in Science East.

Monday, September 17

  • Unfounded fire alarm in Science East.
  • Code of conduct violation in University Village. Roommates reported that another was not adhering to SVSU's overnight guest policy.

Tuesday, September 18

  • Breaking and entering in Living Center North. The police have several suspects and the incident remains under investigation.

Wednesday, September 19

  • Abandoned vehicle impounded on Davis Rd.
  • Breaking and entering alarm in RFoC. The alarm was false as it was set off by employees.
  • Larceny in Living Center North. A DVD player and an Xbox with six games were taken.
  • Medical call in Science East. Individual was feeling ill in class.

Thursday, September 20

  • Larceny from an automobile in A-lot. A book bag was taken.
  • Larceny from an automobile in D-lot. A book bag was taken.
