Dance Team holds tryouts
The Saginaw Valley Dance Team will begin tryouts today, with an informational meeting in the Unity Room starting at 10 p.m. Tryout practice will then commence on Tuesday in the Alumni Lounge, and will last from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Another tryout practice will be held on Wednesday in the Multi-Purpose Room, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m.
The Saginaw Valley Dance Team gives young women the opportunity to get involved with on and off-campus events. The team performs during halftime of all home football games and many basketball games.
Professor to receive Teetor Award
Brooks Byam, associate professor of mechanical engineering at Saginaw Valley State University, has been selected to receive the Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award from the Society of Automotve Engineers (SAE) International.
Byam will be presented with the award during the SAE 2007 World Congress (April 16-19) in Detroit. He is one of 10 professors from around the world who were selected for the honor. Other recipients represent schools such as Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Queen's University-Belfast, the University of Minnesota and the U.S. Naval Academy.
Established in 1953, the Teetor Educational Award recognizes engineering educators and offers them the opportunity to meet and exchange views with practicing engineers in their field.
