Ludacris concert not proposed by a group of African-Americans

The article "African-American students should make voices heard" is not telling the complete truth.
Having been a member of Program Board during the Ludacris concert, I feel that I should tell what really happened.
A group of African-American students did not suggest that Program Board bring in Ludacris in winter 2005, like the article states. The members of Program Board compiled a list that would get researched, and the Programming Chair would let us know the results of the search by talking to our middle agent. The Programming Chair was checking the availability of the acts to see if it was possible to bring them.
Ludacris was towards the bottom of this list and after researching all the previous acts and not getting anywhere, Ludacris became number one because of his availability. Everyone on the top of the list was either too expensive or they were not able to come because of a conflict of schedule between them and ourselves.
Ludacris just happened to be the first one that was not asking for an extreme amount of money and would be able to be here on a specific day, not because a group of African-American students suggested Ludacris.
Anthony Moore, I do not know where you got your information for your article from but I think next time you should check the information to see if it is right.
