Students must balance biological urges, respect for one another

How about some middle ground here! I was lucky enough to be able to speak to Mary Oakley about her column "Sex should wait until marriage." Although I don't completely agree that sex is only acceptable in marriage, I respect her opinion.

Biologically, humans reach their sexual peak in their late teens to early 20s. It's nearly impossible to wait until marriage when you find someone you connect with and your hormones are flying like mad.

However, just because I believe sex doesn't have to wait until marriage doesn't mean I believe in casual sex. I believe that intercourse should be the physical expression of two consenting adults' intimate love for each other. In other words, you should love the person before you do it. And as for me, I'm looking for Mr. Right, not Mr. Right Now.

Although I don't agree with Mary Oakley's view on sex, I was horrified by Paul White and Jeff Grubb's.

As a woman, I don't enjoy being referred to as an automobile or a cow and I find the phrases that refer to test driving the car before purchasing it and tasting the milk before buying the cow completely sexist. Is getting to know a person before you express your feelings physically really that terrible? Is sex the only "milk" and "drive" there is?
