Women's basketball team holding try-outs
The Women's basketball team will be holding open try-outs on Friday in O'Neill Arena, located in the Ryder Center, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Girls who are interested in the opportunity to participate and compete at the college level are asked to attend the try-out.

Presentation on academic success
The Alpha Chi Honor Society will be host a presentation, giving information about majors, as well as tips for academic success. The presentation will be held on Tuesday, Seminar Room D (Curtiss Hall). It begins at 4 p.m. and will last until 7.

Snakes found in Pine Grove
It was reported Monday that several snakes were found in a Pine Grove Apartment. Three were caught in the apartment; two were classified as garter snakes, the other could not be determined. The residents were evacuated since one snake could not be identified.
Exterminators were called in to examine the problem and found snake eggs in the walls. SVSU officials offered no further comment.
SA scholarships available
Applications for the Community Improvement Endowed Scholarship and study abroad scholarships are now available in the Student Association office. The Community Improvement Endowed Scholarship grants $1000 to students demonstrating a commitment to community service. To be eligible, students must be full-time students for the 2007 fall and 2008 winter semesters. Additionally, all applicants must have a minimum of 31 credits (sophomore standing) and at least a 3.0 GPA.
SA study abroad scholarships are $500. All applicants must be studying abroad during the spring and/or summer semesters of 2007, have two letters of recommendation, and have completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service. Applications for both scholarships must be turned into the SA office by Monday, April 2 at 10 p.m.
'Red Pride' design contest
The Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management is sponsoring a design contest with the goal of developing a unifying logo or slogan to best represent the theme of "Red Pride." The student with the best design will take home a new iPod nano as part of a gift package worth over $300. The runners-up will receive $25 each. The winning design may appear on SVSU-themed merchandise such as clothing or at University-sponsored cultural and athletic events.

Disney College Program e-presentation
