Golfers prepare for key second regional

Sophomore Kasey Hocquard and senior Scott Urquhart powers the SVSU golf team to a second-place finish in the Tusculum Inivitational in Greeneville, Tenn. March 10 and 11.

The pair, who were named to the All-Tournament team, finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Hocquard's 143 was just one stroke ahead of Urquhart's 144, and just three back of the overall leader, Darren Christie of Tusculum.

SVSU's final score of 590 was just two strokes behind first-place Grand Valley State. The Cards' second-day score of 290 was the lowest of the 14 teams at the event.

The Cards go back to the greens on Friday, March 30, when they compete in the second Great Lakes Regional in Perry Park, Ky. SVSU finished tied for third in the first regional in the fall.
