Metal comes to Midland
The Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art will be hosting "The Forge: Contemporary Metal Artists Invitational" through Feb 11. The Forge is an exhibition featuring blacksmiths and metal workers from across the country.

Stephen Knapp's "light painting" brightens up Midland
Stephen Knapp is currently showcasing work at the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art. Knapp creates art by focusing beams of reflected light through filters, a process he calls "lightpainting." Many of the pieces on display use a single light source, but by splitting and reflecting the light with angled pieces of glass, intricate patterns are created.
Drew Nelson visits the Conservatory

The White Crow Conservatory of Music will be hosting an open mic night on Wednesday, Feb 7. The $3 ticket cost will be donated to the Old Town Saginaw Music Association.
Short-eared Owl Hike hosted at wildlife refuge
The Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a hike on Saturday, Feb 3 for the short-eared owl. Hikers will have the opportunity to "See and hear the owl that sounds like a small barking dog!" More information is available at (989) 777-5930.

Cardinal Sins "Slamoramaglamjama" in the Multi-Purpose Room
Cardinal Sins is hosting a "Slamoramaglamjama" on Feb. 7 at 8 pm. The event will feature a poetry slam, music, and visual art displays.
