A PUBLIC MATTER -
Students should not post pictures of themselves getting hammered on Facebook. It's really as simple as that. Ever since Facebook went public, companies are screening profiles of applicants and coming to a realization that the well-dressed individual at the interview is not the same person in the profile. »
After all of the SA and Student Life Awards are handed out, we believe there may have been one organization not recognized for their work this year. We would like to give SA the award for most Un-Improved Student Organization of the Year! This award does not come after just a semester of shortcomings and downfalls, but a whole year of blunders in the areas of programming, constituent services, diversity education and training, and most importantly, student representation. »

On Earth Day 20 years ago, I was doing some landscaping at a local park with my Boy Scout troop. A local television reporter was there covering the event and interviewed my friend, who was 12 years old at the time. The reporter asked him what he learned on Earth Day. My friend, realizing that our Earth Day that year was more about manual labor than education, sputtered out "Uh, we, um, learned to plant plants and recycle stuff." We teased him thoroughly. »
