On Friday, July 27, the SVSU Board of Control held a special session to set the tuition rates for the 2007-2008 academic year. The decision saw rates increase 12.9 percent, the highest percentile increase within the last six years. The Board postponed its decision as long as possible with the hope that the state would announce its budget for higher education. »

Sociology prof competes in race to raise money
An SVSU faculty member has found a way to raise money for a cause, and it's not by door-to-door solicitation. Instead, sociology professor Brian Thomas is running a fifty-mile marathon to raise money for a disease known as lupus erythematosus. »

Using VSpace should be easier than ever this semester, thanks to numerous upgrades, tweaks and fixes over the spring and summer. And thankfully so - over 700 course sections have requested accompanying VSpace sites already. For purposes of comparison, as of press time, 64 Blackboard sections have been registered, signifying that SVSU may be near the end of the crossover process. »
