Chippewa Valley High alumni voted King, Queen

For Aaron Mason and Luanne Miglaccio, the road to royalty is 109 miles long. That's how far they would have to drive from their alma mater, Chippewa Valley High School, to reach the fifty-yard line of Wickes Memorial Stadium, where they were announced as this year's Homecoming King and Queen during halftime of Saturday's game against Mercyhurst. »

Third 'Battle' under way, ends Friday

"Battle of the Valleys III" started last night with a bonfire, and after some final scheduling adjustments, will end Friday with "Cardinalrama." »

Rezoning halted by residents' efforts

Citing fears of increased crime and the destruction of their neighborhood, Stephen J. Yanca, professor of social work at SVSU, and two other Kochville Township residents have halted the rezoning of land at the southwest corner of Pierce and Davis roads from single-family residential to mixed-use development. The move is a blow to local investors and the Rochester Hills-based Campus Village. »

Five elected to SA

Three amendments approved by students

Five freshmen were elected to the Student Association last week, increasing SA's membership to 25 representatives.

Students Ashley Issacsen, Barb Gordon, Chelsea Robl, Jeanna Byers, and Libby Isanhart were voted in by the student body. Only freshmen or transfer students were allowed to run in the election, giving those students the same chance to join SA that all other students had in April. »

Forte dancers win Variety Show

Student organizations were given the chance to do whatever they pleased on stage at the 2005 Homecoming Variety Show on Thursday in the Cardinal Gym. Students from different organizations performed in order to win over, not only the audience, but the judges as well. »

Lecture series to begin 10th year

Internationally renowned author Isabel Allende will speak about writing, politics, relationships and more Wednesday in the Performing Arts Theatre. Her lecture is the first in the Dow Visiting Scholars & Artists Lecture Series this semester and opens the 2005 Fall Focus, which revolves around Popular Culture and the Popular Arts. »
