College students living away from home are allowed
by absentee ballot. Voters must fill out an absentee ballot application and return it to their city clerk by 2pm the Saturday before the election, though it is recommended to do it sooner. Once a person recieves and completes their absentee ballot, they must submit it to the clerk’s office (in person or by mail) by 8pm on election day. More detailed information about voting and absentee ballot applications can be found at
www.michigan.gov/sos. If students have questions or would like to receive an absentee ballot application on campus, please contact the Student Association by going to 118 Curtiss Hall or calling 964-4232. You may also email opp@svsu.edu and we will try to answer the questions for you.
