The International Students Club at SVSU promotes cultural
awareness through its activities in the university campus.
International Students Club was formed in the year 1997. AKM
Alan(Sunny), student from Bangladesh took the initiative to
form the club. He got full support from the Office of
International Programs for the formation and initial
functioning of the club. The clubs primary purpose was to
conduct the 1997 food fest in the SVSU campus. At the
initial stage itself the club
consisted of 197 students from 41 different countries.
ISC
actively started participating
in all the university activities from the year 2002. ISC
participated in 2002 homecom ing
and won prize. The theme was “Diversity”. In 2003, as the
strength of members and number of countries started
increasing, ISC decided to start the ‘Ambassador’ system.
Each Ambassador would be responsible for their respective
countries participation and discipline.
Now, ISC has flourished as a well
recognized students organization in the SVSU with 311
