Safe Space is a program targeting the faculty and staff of SVSU that emphasizes communication and support for GLBTQ students. It is our hope that SVSU will always be a campus where all individuals feel accepted and are educated about equality, discrimination, and tolerance. Faculty and staff are encouraged to display Safe Space stickers on their office windows and doors, which inform students that they have entered a welcoming environment. People who display these stickers are approachable and willing to assist students dealing with issues regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.
What is Safe Space?
