The Saginaw Valley State University Chinese Student Association(CSA) is a non-profit student organization aimed at helping students in both academic and social life in Mid-Michigan. The CSA of SVSU also encourages cultural interactions between different ethnic groups in the community.
The CSA club was established in 1998; it was made up both undergraduate and graduate Chinese students. We have students from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and also South Eastern Asia. There are members from all different fields of study, such as Communications and Multimedia, Business, Computer Science, English, Engineering, Nursing, and more. The CSA of SVSU has about sixty members. Unlike fraternities, we do not have limited membership for those who want to participate. We do provide the members with a valuable college life experience by uniting students in planned club activities.
We have regular meetings each month and about two events every month. The CSA of SVSU events provide a great social opportunity for those who are willing to meet new people and have more contributing spirits. Those people who love to party can participate in the dancing club, potlucks, karaoke, barbecues, etc. For those people who want to do outdoor activities, they can join our paintball games, camping trips, ski-trips, football and baseball games. Members who have a special talent can perform in our cultural events, such as Moon Cake Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Chinese New Year.
The CSA of SVSU is not an exclusive club and we welcome people from all different ethnic groups and colleges. We look forward to meeting you. |
