George Eastland

George Eastland has been a member of the SVSU chemistry department since 1969. Currently, he teaches introductory and inorganic chemistry. He devotes a great deal of time and energy to his teaching efforts and utilizes technology extensively. In addition to computer based lecture presentations, he has recently developed a suite of interactive tutorial programs for freshman chemistry students.

Dr. Eastland's research interests lie in the synthesis and characterization of coordination complexes. He has a particular interest in the analysis of compounds by electron spin resonance. Dr. Eastland has won numerous awards including the Franc A. Landee Award for Excellence in Teaching and is actively involved in the local chapter of the American Chemical Society.
