Family Business Program
2008-09 Major Events

All events will be held in Curtiss Hall unless other wise indicated.

The 2008-09 season opens with a workshop focused on the Next Generation but the content is just as relevant to members of the current Leading Generation as well as all colleagues of the family business.  Then, attention turns to key executives within the family firm who are not family members. Of course, non-family executives of your company are welcome and encouraged to attend.

In February, we'll examine how families in business can deal with what sometimes seems to be insurmountable problems, and come to workable conclusions about questions to which there is no one right answer.  The roster of events rounds out with a local panel presentation, featuring top executives from three area family businesses discussing how they have dealt with family policies within their companies.

The August 2009 edition of "Tri-City Monthly Lifestyle Magazine" includes an article about family businesses in the region.  Titled "All in the Family: Generations Choose to Stay in the Tri-Cities and Grow their Family Businesses", the piece includes mention of the SVSU Family Business Program, and profiles several successful family firms.
