Scholarships for Business Students

Most of the scholarships listed below are awarded after an annual competition.   Information on annual award competitions is available in the Office of the Dean at the end of January each year.  Scholarships are generally awarded in April of each year.   For applications and information about deadlines, contact the Office of the Dean, College of Business and Management, Curtiss 320, 989-964-4064.

National Association of Purchasing Management~Saginaw Valley Chapter Fund

Eligible students must be enrolled full or part time with at least 62 credits completed in a program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management and have a minimum grade point average of 3.00.

Case Family Law & Finance Annual Scholarship

 Finance majors or Legal Studies minors.  Minimum grade point average of 3.00 and must be a Saginaw County resident

Arora Business Scholarship

Eligible students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, be enrolled full-time, minimum junior standing, and a major in the College of Business and Management.  Preference will be given to majors in management or marketing.

Shelly Berger Scholarship Fund

Eligible students must be an accounting major with at least 62 credits completed. Minimum grade point average of 3.00.

Department of Accounting Scholarship (John A. Clinkenbeard Accounting Scholarship)

Eligible students must be an accounting major with at least 62 credits completed which must include ACCT 311 or ACCT 315. Minimum grade point average of 3.00. Preference will be given to full time students. Awards and recipients to be determined by the Department of Accounting.

Don C. Law Memorial Scholarship

Eligible students must be enrolled full or part time in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management and have a minimum grade point average of 3.00. Award amount: up to 50% of tuition and fees - scholarship may continue

Gladys and Samuel Marble Graduate Business Scholarship

Eligible students must be enrolled in the Master of Business Administration Program at SVSU and have completed significant course work at Delta College prior to attending SVSU.

Henry E. Schwartz Memorial Business Scholarship

Eligible students must be enrolled full or part time in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management.  Award amount: up to 50% of tuition and fees - scholarship may continue.

James Harvey Memorial Scholarship

Eligible students must be  enrolled full or part-time in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management and have a minimum grade point average of 3.25.  Must be employed on a part-time basis.

Yeo & Yeo Accounting Scholarship

Eligible student must be an accounting major with senior standing. Preference will be given to full time students. Scholastic achievement is the primary consideration. Awards and recipients to be determined by the Department of Accounting.

James Harvey Memorial Scholarship

Eligible student must have completed 62 credits and be enrolled in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management. A minimum grade point average of 3.25 is required.

Saginaw Bay Underwriters Employee Endowed Business Scholarship in Honor of Kurt Ewend

Eligible student must be a full-time student, enrolled in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required. Character, leadership, preference for insurance-related majors, preference to employees and children or grandchildren of employees of Saginaw Bay Underwriters.

Alumni Endowed MBA Scholarship

Eligible student must be enrolled in the MBA program and have completed 12 credits. The student must be a Mid-Michigan resident, show financial need, and not be receiving tuition assistance from their employer.

Paul J. Uselding Endowed Scholarship for Family Business

Eligible students must be a second generation or beyond in a family that owns and operates a family business.  They must also be a resident of Michigan, have achieved a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be a full-time student, have junior standing, major in the College of Business and Management, and demonstrate the potential to contribute to the success of the family business.

Wafa Annual Business Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to freshmen enrolled full-time in an academic program leading to a degree in the College of Business and Management.  Eligible candidates must have achieved a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher.  Recipients will be selected by the Director of Admissions.

Francis Endowed Scholarship

 Eligible students must be accounting majors who are non-traditional (over 25 years of age), enrolled full-time,  and employed to help finance their education.  Preference is to individuals who are junior or senior standing, and demonstrate greatest potential for success and future contribution to field of accounting.

Dow Corning Employees Scholarship

 Eligible students must have a major in the College of Business and Management or Science Engineering and Technology, have a minimum 3.20 GPA, sophomore standing or higher, be enrolled full-time,  and show leadership and good character.
