She earned a BSN from University of Michigan-Flint in 1993 and an MSN from Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) in 1999 while continuing her career at Hurley in areas such as Nuclear Medicine, Critical care, and Case Management. She has been there over 8 years and the practice has grown to include 3 doctors, 5 nurse practitioners, and over 16,000 patients. Other interests include adjunct facility at SVSU teaching courses in nursing, lecturing at conferences and community meetings regarding pain management, and conducting the research program at Matrix. She is an active member in many organizations including American Association of Nurse Practitioners, MICNP, American Association of Pain Management Nurses being one of the first to successfully pass a national certification exam in pain management, Hurley School of Nursing Alumni Association acting as treasurer, and Pi Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
