The Certified Public Manager® Program hosted a graduation reception in July 2011 for cohorts three and four. The graduation was held in the Emeriti Room at Saginaw Valley State University.
Then East Lansing's City Manager Theodore J. Staton addressed the graduates and guests. Staton's speech demonstrates the impact of public officials as they do their job everyday without recognition. Click here to view the full speech (177kB).
The graduates in attendance were presented a certificate of achievement as well as their "CPM®" gold pin signifying their CPM® designation.
Robert Moffit was presented the national Askew Award, 2010 for his Capstone project. While, Tim Young was recognized for his 2011 nominated for the same award. The national CPM® Consortium will announce the 2011 winners at their annual conference in Salt Lake City in October.
We would like to thank our evening sponsors for their continued support of the Certified Public Manager® program - Saginaw Bay Underwriters and Spicer Group, without companies like these this program would not be possible.
