Jaime Leyrer started at SVSU in March 2012 and serves as a valuable member of the SVSU campus community. Jaime received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration and a minor in Youth Studies from Central Michigan University. Her hard work and dedication to her education afforded her the opportunity to complete her Internship with a state senator in Lansing. Her successful Internship combined with her scholastic achievements allowed Jaime to graduate Cum Laude from Central Michigan University in May 2010. Jaime received her Master's Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and is on track to becoming a Certified Public Manager in July 2013.

Prior to working at SVSU, Jaime worked as a Social Media Coordinator of Career Services as well as an Internship & Co-op Coordinator with Central Michigan University. She also served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Political Science. Jaime's overall aptitude with social media combined with her vast knowledge of today's current technological trends has given the SVSU Career Services department a great person to oversee their newest Facebook and Twitter initiatives. Since Jaime started, Career Services has significantly increased their followings on both of the social networks, which can be attributed to Jaime's determination to fully integrate a robust social media campaign at SVSU.

When she is not on campus, Jaime enjoys a good cup of coffee (or five), traveling, exercising, writing, and reading. She has an array of volunteer experience, including work with Alternative Breaks and Habitat for Humanity. Jaime also serves as the Chairperson for the Michigan Career Educator & Employer Alliance Awards Committee. She is an active member of the Midland Chamber of Commerce as well as MYPros, Midland's Young Professionals Network. Serving on the Saginaw YPN Steering Committee, Jaime helps to recruit and retain young professionals in the Saginaw County area. In the future, Jaime hopes to continue her work in Higher Education as an Instructor.
