"The Saginaw Spirit is a major junior hockey team affiliated with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), the premier developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Approximately sixty percent of all active NHL players spent time on a CHL roster. The Saginaw Spirit average 4,500 fans per home game; the Spirit play 34 regular season home games each year.
Saginaw Valley State University Career Planning and Placement has become a critical part of the team’s success these past seasons by referring a great many highly talented and motivated young individuals to the Spirit’s internship program. With a business like ours, it is vital that the interns we have are able to go above and beyond to provide a ‘raving fan’ experience to those attending our games, and Saginaw Valley State University has done an excellent job preparing its students for our demanding internships.
