Enjoy the breathtaking wilderness on a guided raft tour down the sparkling Sturgeon River in Cheboygan County, Michigan. Take in the wilderness on cross-country skis as well during this 2-day adventure. The rafting trip will be very cold, but you won't get wet.
If you are driving, please park in R lot, we have overnight parking passes for that lot if needed. Just let us know when you get here and we will provide you a pass. (See campus map in link #2 for directions). Once you are in R lot, make your way to the Campus Recreation Center entrance and bring all of your gear in at this time.
Depart campus from the Campus Recreation Center
Travel to Indian River, MI
Lodging at Big Bear Adventure's Cabin
Half of the group will raft while the other half cross-country ski in the morning
Groups will switch after lunch
Arrive back to campus no later than 9:00PM
Food and Beverage
Dinner: Taco & Nacho Bar
Breakfast: Coffee, orange juice, pancakes, and assorted granola bars in the cabin
Lunch: Subway (your own expense)
Dinner: Salad, breadsticks, and pizza at G's Pizzeria in West Branch, MI
Please bring a refillable water bottle (min. 32 oz) to use. Feel free to bring any snacks or other items you wish. If you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, please let us know at registration in order to make accommodations.
Refillable water bottle, warm boots, wool socks, snow pants, winter jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, layers, sleepwear, casual clothes for after rafting & XC skiing, hygiene items, towel, snacks, camera, miscellaneous spending money.
*Please limit your belongings to one backpack and a bag similar to an airport carry on item.
