The Headlands Park has more to offer than dazzling views of Orion and the Milky Way. Artificial lighting is rare within the 243-hectare park and Emmet County intends to keep the area as natural as possible. A county-wide outdoor lighting ordinance helps curtail the growth of artificial light at night in surrounding areas.
If you are driving, please park in R lot, we have overnight parking passes for that lot if needed. Just let us know when you get here and we will provide you a pass. (See campus map in link #2 for directions). Once you are in R lot, make your way to the Campus Recreation Center entrance and bring all of your gear in at this time.
