Dr. Poonam Kumar
Director, Center for Academic Innovation & Online Learning

Dr. Kumar is the Director for Center for Academic Innovation and Online Learning. In this role, she provides leadership and strategic vision for the center and for online education. Under the direction of the Provost and in collaboration with colleges and departments, she plans and implements various strategic initiatives to promote teaching and faculty development innovations including technology integration and online learning initiatives. Dr. Kumar is also a professor of Educational Technology.

Dr. Robert W. Lane
Professor of Political Science

Dr. Lane is a professor in the department of Political Science. He teaches introductory political science courses, as well as advanced courses on the American Constitutional and legal system. He collaborates with faculty and departments to support various student retention and teaching projects. He coordinates the annual Teaching Symposium and Teaching Innovation Grants initiatives for the center.

Dr. Erik K. Trump
Professor of Political Science

Dr. Trump is a professor in the department of Political Science. He teaches such classes as Writing and Politics; Introduction to Political Science; The American Political System; Art and Politics; Native American Politics Native American Politics; and American Political Thought. He directs the Faculty Summer Institute, a three-day program for new faculty that emphasizes the centrality of effective and innovative teaching at SVSU. During the academic year he coordinates monthly workshops that build upon the summer experience, offering faculty the opportunity to develop their teaching skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Ann Coburn-Collins is the Director of Adjunct Faculty Support Programs Support and serves as the Liaison for the Center for Academic Innovation. Ann is also an adjunct instructor of Sociology and Gender Studies.

Genevieve White

Instructional Design Specialist for Title III Grant

An undergrad at UM-Dearborn, and a graduate student at SVSU, Genevieve excelled in her studies of language, pedagogy, and technology. Genevieve's work experience includes teaching, training, instructional design, online & hybrid design, and learning management system administration. She is available to help with course structure, course mapping, and online design for all those involved in the Title III "Strengthening Institutions" grant awarded to SVSU.
