| September 2, 2005 Cards Off to Great Start after SVSU Invitational UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley
State Cardinals competed against Schoolcraft College on Friday at
the SVSU Invitational and won the dual meet by a margin of 30 points
with SVSU collecting 15 team points. The first six finishers wore
red and white led by sophomore Becca Rudey (Wixom, Mich./Walled
Lake Western) who ran the 6K race in a time of 23:50. Following
just behind was freshman Nicole Schmidt (Livonia, Mich./Churchill)
in second place with a time of 24:57. Sophomore Jenny Phelan (Horton,
Mich./Hanover-Horton) claimed third with a time of 25:32. The fourth
finisher was junior Jenny Bellsky (Frankenmuth, Mich.) in a time
of 25:34. Freshman Ashley Gardynik (Howell, Mich.) finished fifth
at 25:49 and sixth belonged to freshman Elayna Dush (Sanford, Mich./Meridian)
