Cardinals Compete at Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Spartan Invitational on Friday (September 17).
     On the men's course, SVSU junior Adam Roach (Port Huron, Mich.) was the Cardinals top finisher. Roach crossed the finish line in 26th place with a time of 25:44, while freshman Steve Czymbor (Hemlock, Mich.) finished in 31st place in 25:51. Sophomore James Gale (Westland, Mich./Livonia Churchill) provided the Cardinals only other top-40 finish, taking 34th place in 25:58.
     Freshman Becca Rudey (Wixom, Mich./Walled Lake Western) provided the Lady Cardinals with their only top-40 finish, taking 36th with a time of 23:24. Senior Megan Strohkirch (Gladwin, Mich.) took 45th place in 23:35.
     The Cardinals return to action on Friday (September 24) at the Ferris State Invitational. The women are slated to begin at 5:30p.m., while the men will start at 6:00p.m.
