Harriers Run at Grand Valley

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's cross country team participated in the NCAA Pre-Regional hosted by Grand Valley State University. GVSU's Shannon Antvelink finished first with a time of 18:30.
   Diane Johnston (Grand Blanc, Mich.) finished 21st, with a time of 19:59. Freshman Jenny Bellsky (Frankenmuth, Mich.) turned in a strong performance with a time of 20:42. Rikki Owczarzak (Bay City, Mich./Western HS), Sarah Johnston (Grand Blanc, Mich.), and Heather Kersjes (Corunna, Mich.) finished 37th through 39th, respectively, with times of 20:58, 20:59, and 21:09. Freshman Kelly Meucci (St. Charles, Ill./East HS) finished 44th with a time of 21:43.
   The Cardinals return to action on Friday (Sept. 27), when they travel to Big Rapids, Mich., to take part in the Ferris State Invitational.
