SVSU Finish Second at Ferris Invite

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Saginaw Valley ran a 5k race and finished in second place, just one point behind host Ferris State University on Friday (Sept.27). The Bulldogs put together a team score of 40, while SVSU finished with 41 points. Lansing Community College, Lake Superior State University, and Mott Community College finshed out field of five.
    The Lady Cardinals were led by Meagan Strohkirch (Gladwin, Mich.) who placed fourth with a time of 20:08 . Senior Rose Willis (Au Gres, Mich./Sims HS) ran a time of 20:11 to finish 5th, while Rikki Owczarzak (Bay City, Mich./Western HS) crossed the finish line with a time of 20:20 to garner ninth place.
    SVSU will run next on Saturday, October 5 at the Loyola Lakeshore Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 10:15am.
